From time to time our church hosts special events reflecting the time of year or a community event.
Celebrating 400 Years Of God's Grace
2026 sees Haven Church celebrate 400 years of continuous Christian worship by Independent Christians in Gorran Haven. From humble beginnings along with some Mevagissey fishermen meeting in a cave just after Charles I was crowned to the present chapel that was built in 1863 on a plot of land just off Church Street that was purchased for £15, the worshippers at Haven Church have maintained their desire to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with their local community. The village has changed, the church building has seen several major renovations (the last in 2016), but the Bible and its message never changes. Haven Church is the oldest independent church in Cornwall.

Light Party - Sunday 1st November
A bright alternative to Halloween for children from Reception to Year 6 that provides games, food, craft, prizes and a short Christian talk. The amazing thing is that it is free to attend but you do need to book your place. See the poster for full details.
Shoebox Service
Sunday 15th November at 11am sees a special service celebrating the sending of our filled shoeboxes from Gorran Haven as part of Operation Christmas Child run by Christian charity Samaritan's Purse. Last year Haven Church sent 347 - how many will it be this year? You will also hear and see just where the shoeboxes go and the impact they have on young lives in needy parts of the world. The service lasts an hour and everyone will find a warm welcome.
Remembrance Service - Sunday 8th November
Starting at 11am in the church a service which will include an Act of Remembrance along with appropriate hymns, readings and a Bible message. All service personnel and veterans are especially welcome. The service will be followed by Shoebox-making (See below) and a soup and roll lunch.
