2026 sees Haven Church celebrate 400 years of continuous Christian worship by Independent Christians in Gorran Haven. From humble beginnings along with some Mevagissey fishermen meeting in a cave just after Charles I was crowned to the present chapel that was built in 1863 on a plot of land just off Church Street that was purchased for £15, the worshippers at Haven Church have maintained their desire to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with their local community. The village has changed, the church building has seen several major renovations (the last in 2016), but the Bible and its message never changes. Haven Church is the oldest independent church in Cornwall.
